Title: Consulting Software Engineer ( LEX00BLU)
Location: Dayton, OH

This position exists to provide assistance and input to management; develop and lead large multi-functional development activities; solve complex technical problems, write complex code for computer systems and serve as a senior source of expertise.
As the Consulting Software Engineer your key roles and responsibilities will include:
Leads major technical project design, engineering and integration efforts or develops complex code
Consults with internal and vendor resources on design, code and test reviews.
Builds new high level designs as required; reviews vendor generated high level designs.
Leads major technical project design, engineering and integration efforts or develop complex code
Recommends and plans use of system and software features.
Maintains an understanding of current industry trends possibly through attendance at vendor seminars and/or training sessions.
Determines feasibility of customer requirements and designs solutions, builds and integrates the implementation by working with in house or vendor resources.
Provides recommendations on the utilization of emerging and existing technologies
Works independently - very complex system problems using debugging tools or other diagnostic aids
Recommends technical strategy and direction in area(s) of expertise.
Demonstrates an ability to provide technical guidance in one or more center of expertise.
Establishes work standards and guidelines.
Reviews vendor generated high level designs
Acts as a contact between the vendor engineering teams and LexisNexis to communicates to vendors additional features or products needed and works with vendors to effect system improvements.
Able to communicate with customers (internal and external) on new system features enhancements.
Leads major technical project design, engineering and integration efforts or develop complex code
Leads teams consisting of both employees and vendor resources in multiple locations and time zones.
Consults with cross-functional project teams to ensure integrity of existing fabrication processes and participates in implementation of new technologies.
Consults with stakeholders to find alternative workarounds during system outages.
Consults with vendor engineering teams and LexisNexis, answers questions from vendor(s) and provide technical guidance
Performs engineering cost/benefit analysis to verify potential effectiveness of new projects.
Provides technical assessment and recommends acquisition and joint venture projects.
Participates in development and evolution of architecture.
Other duties as assigned.
Basic
Qualifications:
10
years experience in all phases of system and/or product development
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer engineering, Business Administration or equivalent technical discipline or equivalent technical experience.
This individual should have extensive knowledge of PeopleSoft development tools such as PeopleTools, Integration Broker, Application Engine, Component Interface, and Process Scheduler.
Experience with companies in the publishing, software, consumer products, legal, or online services industries is preferred.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate success in previous projects using PeopleSoft Order Management, Inventory, Cost Management, Accounts Receivable, and/or Contracts and Billing.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
